The Economics Society, SBSEC was established in 2010 with the aim of promoting dissemination of knowledge related to various issues in Economics. The society strives to encourage learning beyond the confines of the classroom and to foster deeper insights into economic policies and research.

The society maintains an inclusive selection process, evaluating prospective members through face-to-face interviews on the basis of interest, commitment, and aptitude. Key positions in the society include President, Vice President, Secretary, Joint Secretary, Treasurer, Department Heads, Core Members, and Members.

The flagship event of the society is the National Young Economists Conclave (NYEC), a national-level platform that enables undergraduate students from prestigious universities across India to present research papers and analytical perspectives on important economic issues.

NYEC consistently witnesses enthusiastic participation and provides a forum for students to exchange ideas, debate policies, and explore emerging economic challenges through research and discussion.

EcoBuzz is the annual flagship fest of the Economics Department conducted every November with great enthusiasm and participation. It provides a dynamic platform that blends fun, learning, and creativity through competitions such as debates, quizzes, case-based challenges, innovative games, and treasure hunts.

Students from various colleges across Delhi University participate actively, making EcoBuzz one of the most vibrant and awaited events of the year. Exciting cash prizes, lively activities, and a spirit of healthy competition make the fest a perfect blend of intellect and enjoyment.

The Economics Society is dedicated to spreading knowledge and fostering intellectual growth among students. To achieve this goal, the society regularly organizes speaker sessions and seminars on diverse topics that enhance the academic and practical understanding of students.

In the past, sessions have included a seminar on GMAT and GRE preparation conducted by Jamboree Institute, a workshop on Research Methodology, and several engaging discussions that bridge academic concepts with real-world economic applications.
