National Service Scheme (NSS)
Introduction
The National Service Scheme (NSS) was launched on 24th September 1969, and this day is celebrated as NSS Day. The programme was launched in 37 universities and today it operates in more than 700 universities/colleges across India, fostering a sense of social responsibility.
Motto
The motto of NSS is “Not Me But You”, reflecting the spirit of democratic living and the need for selfless service. It underlines that the welfare of an individual is ultimately dependent on the welfare of the society as a whole.
