NUKE – The Hindi Debating Society
NUKE – The Hindi Debating Society of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Evening College, University of Delhi, was established in 2012 under the name Power of Words, with the aim of nurturing oratory excellence and critical thinking among students. In 2014, the society was renamed NUKE, symbolizing the power of impactful expression and intellectual dynamism. It is one of the fastest growing societies of the Delhi University Debating Circuit. Events & Activities
NUKE organizes a diverse range of prestigious debating events and interactive sessions throughout the academic year, fostering intellectual growth and competitive excellence among its members. The society’s flagship events include:
- Anugrah – An Intra-Society Conventional Debate Competition designed to nurture foundational debating skills among members.
- Samarpan – An Intra-Society Parliamentary Debate that introduces participants to structured parliamentary formats and critical thinking.
- Unmukt – An Inter-College Debate Event at the undergraduate level, featuring both Conventional and Parliamentary Debate formats, encouraging wider academic engagement.
- Spandan – An Inter-College Fresher Parliamentary Debate aimed at providing a competitive platform for first-year students to showcase their debating potential.
- Dhanak – The prestigious Shaheed Bhagat Singh Memorial Parliamentary Open Debate Competition, attracting talented debaters from across institutions.
In addition to these major events, NUKE regularly conducts orientation sessions, mock debates, and discussion circles to continuously enhance members’ debating, analytical, and public speaking skills, while promoting confidence, teamwork, and intellectual discourse.
