Areopagitica
About the Society
The Areopagitica Society, established in 2019, promotes creative writing and learning among students through activities and events within the college. Since its reorganization in 2023, the society has been committed to providing a platform for students to develop and showcase their writing skills, currently under the leadership of convener Dr. Jyoti Arora.
Empowering students to be more capable, more knowing, and more eager by helping them discover their hidden potential and providing a platform to showcase their abilities without language barriers.
Over the past year, the society has successfully organized multiple events, fostering creativity, awareness, and engagement within the literary and social spheres.
Structure and functions
Areopagitica follows a well-maintained hierarchy consisting of a core team including:
Areopagitica functions as a learning platform for writers by conducting various sessions, usually in Hindi and English, and sometimes in Urdu or other languages as per members’ preferences.
The society provides opportunities to perform by connecting members with other colleges in the Delhi University circuit and various poetry and storytelling platforms.
Additionally, workshops with experienced writers are organized to provide professional insights and exposure to members.

Lehza – The Flagship Event
Lehza is the flagship event of Areopagitica, consisting of various competitions and poetry performances by renowned artists. In previous editions, artists like Rakesh Tiwari have performed. The event is typically organised in collaboration with poetry platforms and publication houses.
Lehza also promotes poetry as a medium for social change, emphasizing that writing goes beyond personal expression and contributes to broader societal dialogue.

Author Sessions and Workshops
Throughout the year, the society organises sessions with established writers and workshops with experts. Notable sessions include an author interaction with Dr. Suchi Batra, a US-based writer, and a professional workshop conducted in collaboration with Blue Star Publication House.
