About the Society
Fitoor – The Fashion Society of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Evening College, established in the year 2023, is a vibrant community of creative individuals passionate about style, self-expression and art through fashion. The society aims to provide a platform for students to explore the world of fashion, ramp, styling and design while encouraging individuality, confidence and teamwork.
Our core purpose is to represent fashion as a medium of storytelling, blending creativity, culture, and contemporary trends through performance and styling.
The society functions under a core team led by the President, Vice President, Secretary and four different department heads namely Modelling Head, Design Head, PR Head and Social Media Head along with a talented group of performing and management members.
We conduct auditions every academic year to onboard new members and train them in ramp walk, posing, stage presence and conceptual theme performance.
Activities
- Concept-based fashion performances in inter- and intra-college fests.
- We organise daily modelling practice sessions.
- Workshops on fashion styling, grooming and modeling.
- Photoshoots and creative campaigns promoting body positivity and inclusivity.
- Regular practice sessions focused on choreography, synchronization and styling innovation.
- Initiatives spreading awareness through theme-based performances such as Violence Against Women, Yin and Yang, and Nature vs Technology, blending fashion with strong social messages.
- Photowalk sessions (at least two Sundays a month) to grow our Instagram presence and provide members exposure to the fashion industry.
- Fitoor provides a platform for students to showcase their talent through both group and solo performances.
- Competitions (solo and group) are organised during our Annual Cultural Fest to provide DU colleges a platform to showcase their talent and present social messages through annual productions.
The society does not function under any specific academic department and operates as an independent student-led cultural society.
Notable Achievements
The Fashion Society aims to inspire creativity and confidence among students by merging art, culture, and contemporary fashion. Our members work towards representing the college at various inter-college and professional platforms, building a strong creative community within and beyond the campus. We also encourage students to explore fashion as a form of self-expression and storytelling.
Fitoor is a very new society established in 2023 and does not receive any funds from the college. Despite limited resources, the team manages everything independently and works hard to compete with the well-established fashion societies of other colleges of Delhi University.
In its first year itself, the society performed in a total of five colleges and secured 1st position in two competitions, reflecting the dedication and talent of its members.
- Duo Competition – Swami Shraddhanand College (Majestic Drowers): The first position was won by Sukriti Ranjan along with her teammate, who is currently serving as the President of Fitoor.
- Solo Competition – Dyal Singh College (Glamoratti): Kanishk, former Modelling Head of Fitoor, won the solo competition and received the title of Mr. Tres Chic.
- Apart from these achievements, the society has also performed in several other colleges including Bharti College and Satyawati College.
- The team has also participated in performances and events organised by NGOs such as The Sankalp Organization, promoting creativity and social engagement.
